Application Approved – Awaiting Relocation:)

January 8, 2007

Elderly pet owner (35+ indoor cats and 5+ indoor dogs!) in search of (gullible) tenants to keep her in kibble. Offering a charming apartment with a great view (windows don’t open) of trees and shrubs (so close to house that foundation is compromised). Recently remodeled (by said elderly pet owner) and completely up-to-code (DaVinci’s, of course!). Tenants must be communicative (willing to endure long telephone conversations about the state-of-the-world and how to prevent kitty poop stains in carpet) and flexible (realize that tenant rights are non-existent) and preferably childless (due to the peeling lead paint and other health hazards). Please apply today for this once-in-a-lifetime offer!

Tim and I found out yesterday that our application to rent was approved, which means as of the 15th we’ll be relocating. This is such a wonderful and good thing for us because this charming old house is dangerously run down,… the bathroom floor needs to be completely replaced, both porches completely torn down and re-done, and the entire house stripped for lead paint. All of which is hazardous to people in general, but especially cute little babies with developing brains and nervous systems.

Sooo,… can you guess what I’ll be doing all month? That’s right! Packing! And taping! And marking with markers! And sniffing said markers! (Oops, I’m not sure how that got in there. I would NEVER sniff markers. Mostly cause they smell disgusting, but anyway…)
