Baby’s Second Meal

March 16, 2007

Gabe was a particularily fussy baby today, mostly because he just refused anything resembling a nap and the ensuing crankiness could only be appeased by Mama’s constant, undivided attention. Yes, Mama may have had plans of her own, like sorting through his outgrown outfits, but of course Gabe won. Babies often don’t accept defeat.

Mama decided to take advantage of her baby’s clinginess, and proceeded to feed him something other than milk. We had tried rice cereal before, but other than a few memorable pictures the event wasn’t that successful,… Gabe was more interested in his bib than anything else. This time? Gabe eagerly open his mouth anytime the spoon came near! It just showed that Gabe needed a bit more time to get ready for solids in his tummy.

Other than that, today was unremarkable. I caught up on my laundry, and kept checking a blog on the internet to see if the Stephen Avery trial had come to a verdict. Tomorrow we have a few errands to run, from oil changes in our vehicles to a trip to dispose of all the clothes I’ve cleared out. I also want to stop and pick up a casserole or two so that when Bob and Gloria arrive tomorrow afternoon we can all devote our time to visiting and playing with “His Royal Cuteness” (our new nickname for Gabe) instead of cooking.

I hope you have a great time with bob & gloria. how often do y’all get to visit with them? and thanks for the link to the avery trial. it’s very interesting, I’m anxious to see how it turns out. he sounds like a real winner, but that judgementalness thing of mine kicked in at the cat episode.
