Did I Mention A Case Of Cabin Fever?!?

February 28, 2008

It’s turning into a long winter. I think it’s because any time I look outside my front windows, I see huge snow piles that are taller than I am, and somehow that seems to block the view of anything less white. The only redeeming quality of this time of year is that Tim now gets to drive home from work in the last bit of sunlight, as opposed to the dark of a month ago. I can’t help but daydream about soaking up that extra sunlight in someplace tropical – preferably with palm trees and those drinks that come in coconuts with little umbrellas.

Even Gabe, who usually prefers being home and surrounded by toys (especially when the alternative is being locked in a shopping cart) has been frequently handing me his puffy winter coat in an obvious plea to get out of the house. The kid may not talk, but he sure knows how to communicate anyway! Unfortunately, it’s hard to let him outside much during the day, since the snow on the ground is higher than his legs are, and he tends to do some impressive face-planted snow angels. Getting to take Gabe to the park is just another in a long list of reasons why spring can’t come soon enough!
